1955 Chevrolet Bel Air
American Classic. Modern Rhythm.
Project Tri-5 brings modern fuel delivery and carefully sorted mechanicals to a defining American classic. Turquoise-and-white bodywork, sweeping chrome and unmistakable ’55 Chevrolet proportions set the scene. Beneath that familiar presence, targeted upgrades give this Bel Air a fresh chapter on the road.
The transformation centers on an electronic fuel-injection conversion, replacing the carburetor with digitally controlled fuel delivery. A dedicated EFI tank, new pump, regulator and return plumbing support the installation, with custom wiring and an exhaust-mounted oxygen sensor bringing the system together. A billet distributor, new ignition coil, plugs and wires complete the ignition refresh, while careful fuel-pressure, timing and idle calibration bring the engine into tune.
The chassis received equally purposeful attention. Rear drum brakes gave way to disc brakes, complemented by new parking-brake cables and wheel studs. Replacement rear leaf springs and fresh tires refine the stance, while custom-fabricated tailpipes, hangers and tips carry the exhaust neatly beneath the body. Modified power-steering brackets correct pump alignment, with renewed belts completing the installation.
Inside, the familiar dashboard remains part of the experience, its wiring repaired and instruments serviced. A new ignition switch and lock cylinder, resealed intake manifold, adjusted valves and refreshed cooling components address the details that make a classic easier to live with. Repeated tuning and road testing draw the work together. Tri-5 keeps the visual confidence of 1955, with modern fuel control and mechanical refinement ready for the miles ahead.
